Brick Tabel

Hi Ian 🙂

You mention it yourself briefly in the video, is there no way to make Revit calculate the brick-measurements? I've wondered this before when I've worked on school projects!

If manual calculation is the only way, Do you have a UK-standard tabel? As the bricks we use in Denmark are Unique to Denmark.

Hi Henrik,

There are a couple of work-arounds:

You could set the snap increments for length to brick lengths. This would be a real pain I think, and more trouble than it's worth.

You could create (and here's a project for you!) a line based detail element that contains an array- so you you can dial in the brick length and the virtual ruler extends in plan- and then you can snap your wall start and wall end to it.

Or just use these....

....and type in the dims as you go along.

Cheers,

Ian

It does sound like it's easier to just enter the measurements! but I'm always looking for automating processes, but sadly that's not always possible 🙂

I think we should have a go at creating a parametric 2D arrayed tool.

It may also be possible in Dynamo! But that's for next year!

Cheers,

Ian
