Finishes In Revit

Hi All,

In using Revit and adding and utilizing materials for the interior renderings and finish out, there are times when you assign a material that it gets assigned to other items-any reason why that's happens? Also, if you have use Enscape for rendering and save the image to bring into your Revit CD set, how can you label it like the other renderings or elevations done within Revit that you drag and drop on your sheets? There's no numbering or a way to insert a callout-unless I'm not seeing something.

Thanks,

Kim

Hi Kim,

The issue of materials changing in other elements, is quite a common issue. It will almost certainly be down to you not duplicating the element type first and then using a different material in the new type.

For example with Walls:

You need to duplicate the Wall type first- ie create a new Wall Type

and then also create a different material in it's properties.

The issue you describe often happens when multiple element types are all referencing the same material definition. You need to disaggregate them by creating new types.

Hope this helps,

Kind regards,

Ian
