Phasing walls - Best solution

I am looking for some guidance on best practices for setting up walls that are partially demolished.  I have a masonry wall with a 3/4" furring strip and 1/2" drywall on the interior side.  I need to demo the 3/4" furr strip and drywall.  Would like this quantity to show up on a material demo schedule.

I have not used 2 walls beside each other and am not familiar with how to join them to have windows and doors cut properly.

What is the best solution to this.

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

2 adjacent walls are a possibility- but it starts to get messy for all sorts of reasons.

How about 2 similar Wall Types- one with thre layers you need, the other without them

The just demolish the overall wall and create the new (reduced-layer) wall in the next phase.

Of course you'll need to demolish / create any windows, doors, etc; in those walls. But may be neater, easier than a series of adjacent walls with opening spanning through them.

Don't have Revit to hand right now- but can post some screen shots next week.

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks.  How do you handle demo schedules and new material schedules doing it your way.
